Select “drop a file/folder to begin” and find your SD card from the drop down file list. This way you won’t lose your town or save data! Step 11 (optional): Back up your game using powersaves or another similar program! Although not required to hack, it’s always a good idea to back up your game before hacking in case something you mess with corrupts your save file. You should now have a small program where you extracted the folder called NLSE.

Step 10: Download the save editor here and extract the file. What’s important right now is the garden.dat file.) (Don’t worry if you don’t have every single file in your folder yet. Open it and it should look something like this: Open up the root of your SD card and you should now have a saveDataBackup folder. Step 9: Insert your SD card back into your computer. Step 8: Press A and let the save manager back up your ACNL save game file. The bottom screen should turn red for a second and the top screen should eventually show this: Step 7: Use the c-pad (or d-pad) to scroll through to find ACNL. If you have another game that title will be what shows up. NOTE: Whatever game cartridge you have in your 3DS will show up in the menu first. Step 6: Select the save_manager and you’ll come to a screen that looks like this:
Scroll down and you should come to something that looks like this (if you’re using an older version of the homebrew launcher there won’t be an icon): Boot up your 3DS and go to whatever hack you currently use to open up the homebrew launcher. Step 5: Eject your SD card and put it back into your 3DS. Now when you open the 3ds folder in your SD card, you should have a “save_manager” folder like in the screen shot above. Step 4: Select the new 3ds folder and move it to your SD card. Step 3: Extract the file and you should have a 3ds folder. The inside of the 3ds folder should look something like this MINUS the save_manager folder, which again you won’t have yet: Since you already have the homebrew launcher installed, it should look something like this MINUS the saveDataBackup folder which you won’t have yet: Step 1: Insert your SD card into your computer (or SD card reader) and keep it on the root directory (the very first file directory).
